joinXS Player¶
joinXS Player plays back JPEG XS media.
What it does¶
joinXS Player enables high-quality, native-resolution review of JPEG XS content directly from MXF files, eliminating the need for transcoding or format conversion.
It supports multi-essence MXF files with synchronized video and audio tracks.
See Licensing below for how licensing works, or Demo mode if you want to evaluate joinXS Player without a license.
Licensing¶
joinXS Player supports two licensing modes: online and offline. When using online licensing, you can be logged in on only one device at the same time. When using offline licensing, the license is bound to the specific hardware it was issued for. In both cases, the license is time-limited to your subscription period.
Online licensing¶
Sign in with your easydcp.com account on the login dialog. The application is unlocked according to the subscription associated with that account.
If the internet connection drops while using an online license, joinXS Recorder blocks further use until the connection returns.
Offline licensing¶
Use offline licensing for a device that isn't connected to the internet:
- Open the joinXS Player in Demo / Offline mode.
- Open Preferences > Activation Status and choose Request license.
- If your connected to the internet, you may submit your request directly.
- If you're currently offline, save the generated HTML file to a location of your choice.
- Open that HTML file in a browser on a device connected to the internet, and submit it to easydcp.com.
- You'll receive an offline license file (
*.joinXS) in return.
Load the offline license file either by dragging it onto the login dialog at startup, or via Activation Status > Import license in the Preferences dialog.
License expiry¶
When a license — online or offline — expires, joinXS Player blocks further use, but can still be used in demo mode.
Demo mode¶
By choosing "Demo / Offline Mode" instead of logging in, joinXS Player launches in demo mode. Demo mode is meant for evaluating the product: playback quality is decreased after 15 seconds, and the video shows a watermark.
